Dengue cases almost doubled in last eight days in Gurgaon

As per information from the district health department, there have been 241 cases of dengue reported in Gurgaon so far, nearly doubling in the last eight days. 116 instances of dengue have been registered since last Monday with o deaths being reported so far due to dengue.

 

Out of the 241 cases overall, 100 cases have been reported from public hospitals, while 141 cases have been recorded from private institutions. Farrukh Nagar CHC and Wazirabad PHC regions in the district have reported the most cases, accounting for 184 cases each. Urban CHCs have reported 34 cases, making up the remainder of the cases. The CHCs in Pataudi and Ghangola recorded 23 dengue cases.

 

A health department representative stated that although cases increased following the recent period of heavy rain, the rate of increase has decreased slightly over the past two to three days. Fogging and disease-vector screening have been intensified. Instructions have been given to enhance source reduction and house-to-house anti-larval actions. The district civil hospital has set aside one unit and 25 beds for dengue patients. Up to 60 domestic breeding checkers (DBCs) have been deployed to support source reduction efforts throughout the transmission season. In around 176 water bodies, the gambusia fish has been released.

 

There were seven new dengue cases recorded on Monday. 34 people out of the total cases are being treated in hospitals; 19 are being treated in private hospitals against 15 in government facilities. According to health department authorities, 82 dengue patients have been released, while 125 cases were treated at outpatient clinics without hospitalization (OPDs).
